Ayr Rugby Football Club

Ayr centre and now Glasgow Warrior Stafford McDowall has been called into the Scotland Squad ahead of the up-and-coming Guinness Six Nations Championship.

The 20-year old joined Ayr in 2016 before signing a full-time professional contract with the Glasgow Warriors last month. Since becoming a warrior McDowall has gone from strength-to-strength and proved to be an integral cog of an already packed midfield. His performances have now been rewarded by Scotland head-coach Gregor Townsend.

Joining McDowall is Ayr RFC draft player Rory Hughes and Edinburgh scrum-half Henry Pyrgos. The trio replace last week's late call-ups of Alex Dunbar, Matt Smith and Lee Jones, who are all carrying injuries.

Ayr RFC wish Stafford the very best of luck in the up-and-coming Championship.
