Ayr Rugby is delighted to confirm that Pat MacArthur will return to the Ayrshire Bulls as Head Coach replacing his predecessor, Peter Horne. MacArthur made way for Horne at the start of the year but will rerise his role following Horne’s promotion to the Glasgow Warriors coaching staff.

Pat MacArthur will be joined by club legend Frazier Climo, who fulfils the assistant position.

Elias Caven has become player / coach and will lead strength and conditioning training.

It was a fruitful first tenure in charge for MacArthur, leading the Bulls to inaugural FOSROC Super6 success – He’ll now get the chance to defend his title in the coming months. A club stalwart, he came through the Ayr youth system before enjoying a decade of professional rugby with the Glasgow Warriors and Scotland.

Frazier Climo is a man who needs no introduction to the Millbrae faithful. The fly-half had an illustrious playing career in pink and black, cementing his place as one of the club greats. He was initially involved in the Bulls coaching staff in 2019, working under Peter Murchie as skills coach. Since then he has occupied a player/ coach role with the 1st XV.

MacArthur has been piecing together his support staff, with further announcements to be made in the coming weeks.
