Earlier today the Ayrshire Bulls signed off pre-season with a victory over Watsonians at Myreside, pipping them at the post 24-25. Despite a late Ross Thompson's winner from the tee it wasn't the result that pleased head coach Pete Murchie, but rather the performance of his men.

Speaking after the 100 minutes of action (Divided up into one forty and three twenty minute periods) he said: "You don't get any points from pre-season, so it is about performance. Usually if you put in the performance you get the result but I wasn't particularly looking at the score board.

"I guess a win is always good but today was about looking at skill level, particularly in tough conditions".

A full squad of 30 travelled through to the capital for the runaround, with all focus on impressing before the big day next Sunday - The Bulls' first FOSROC Super6 game. "This game was really beneficial", insists Pete Murchie: "It gave the boys the opportunity to get out there before next weekend. "It was a massive improvement from last week's hitout and there was some really pleasing things on display. "We will take those forward into prep for it all kicking off next weekend and we we will be raring to go". The Bulls' scores came from Tyler Beary, Tom Lewis and Craig Gossman. You can catch the Bulls next weekend in the opening round of the FOSROC Super6 when they welcome Heriots to Millbrae on Sunday 10th at 14.00.
