Oktoberfest returns to Millbrae!

Oktoberfest returns to Millbrae on Saturday the 29th of September for the third year on the trot.

Ayr 43-15 Stirling County

Peter Murchie's men made it three from three in the Tennent's Premiership on Saturday when they downed Stirling County 43-15 at Millbrae. After a tense first half Ayr squeezed into the break with a narrow 17-15 lead but managed to stretch their legs in the last half hour taking the game away from the visitors. The win also means that Ayr will etch themselves onto the Bill McLaren Shield for the second time in their history- the only club to do so.

Dutch Duo Join Ayr Ranks

Dutch international Amir Rademaker and age-grade international Wolf Van Dijk have joined the Ayr RFC squad ahead of the 2018/19 Tennents Premiership.

PREVIEW: Heriots v Ayr

Ayr look to continue with their flawless start to life under Pete Murchie when they travel to the Capital to take on Heriots.

The Edinburgh outfit have also enjoyed a perfect opening to the Tennents Premiership and showed off their muscle last week with a 71-12 dismantling of Edinburgh Accies last weekend.

Club captain Pete McCallum will get his first action of the season as he returns from injury sustained in pre-season.
The only other change in the pack from last week is Steven Longwell swaps sides of the scrum with Ruairidh Sayce on the loose.

In the backs David Armstrong is back in the nine jersey and Stafford McDowall gets his first start of the season after impressing off the bench against County.

Warrior Paddy Kelly retains his 13 jersey with his Glasgow teammate Rory Hughes coming back into the fray after illness last week.

On the bench Ollie Smith returns after a couple of weeks rest.

1XV: G. Anderson, K. Rowe, P. Kelly, S. McDowall, R. Hughes, F. Climo, D. Armstrong; R. Sayce, R. Smith, S. Longwell, D. Corbenici, M. Sykes, P. McCallum (C), T. Spinks, B. Macpherson.

Subs: A. McGuire, R. Sayce, G. Henry, A. Rademaker, O. Smith.

The 2XV are also in action at Goldenacre where they take on Heriots 2s. The squad is still TBC.

Both matches kick-off at 3pm and if you cant make the journey to Edinburgh you can follow the action every step of the way on Twitter @OfficialAyrRFC

Ayr Ladies 19-49 Oban Lorne Ladies

Ayr ladies suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday when they fell 19-49 to an accurate and precise Oban Lorne side.
